Young carers services
Whatever you do to look after the person in your family who has an illness, disability, mental health condition or drug/alcohol problem, a young carers service can offer you:
- Fun! Clubs in the evenings or at weekends, days out, trips away.
- Someone who can support you and listen to you when you need it, and who is on your side.
- Information and advice for your whole family. If the person you help to look after gets more help, then that might mean more free time and space for you!
- Choices. Staff at a young carers service will help to find out what options are available to help you, and will support you to make the right decisions for you.
Most young carers services can be found by doing a straightforward internet search for “young carers” and the name of your nearest town, city or the county you live in. However, if you’d like us to find out about one for you then you can contact the Babble team (remember to tell us where you live!) and we’ll do that for you.
Find out who else can help, or contact the Babble team using the 'Ask a question' form.
